Using the HTML5 Canvas API with bicubic interpolation, it produces smooth, high-quality results. Upload an image, enter your desired width and height, toggle the aspect ratio lock to maintain proportions, and download the resized result.
Image resizing uses interpolation algorithms to calculate pixel values at the new dimensions. When downscaling (making an image smaller), multiple pixels are averaged into single pixels, which can improve sharpness and reduce noise. When upscaling (making an image larger), the algorithm estimates new pixel values based on surrounding pixels—bicubic interpolation considers 16 surrounding pixels for smooth results, making it significantly better than nearest-neighbor or bilinear methods.
Aspect ratio is the proportional relationship between width and height. When the aspect ratio lock is enabled (default), changing one dimension automatically adjusts the other to maintain the image's original proportions. This prevents distortion and stretching. Disable the lock to set custom dimensions freely, which is useful when you need an exact pixel size regardless of proportions.
All processing happens entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript and the Canvas API. Your images are never uploaded to any server—they never leave your device.
